Sundays epic fail

It always gets me. I go into the diet believing that I can resist temptation and I always find something that hitches me. Sunday it was sonic. My husband wanted sonic and I was hoping for a salad. Temptation won over. I have decided that my next step is to plan out menus and from there go shopping. Wish me luck!

Cleaning out my kitchen

Day one of cleaning went well for me. Day one of eating better failed miserably. I tried but temptation seemed to reign supreme today. I got rid of three bags of trash from my cabinets, stuff I didn't even know that I had. I found cake mixes that were expired, peanut butter that was expired, and the junk food...I am ashamed.

I know how to eat well, but those foods never taste good OT sound good to me. I know how to exercise but the task seems daunting. I came to the conclusion that this addiction with food might be a result of depression, loneliness, and most of all poor self control. I would really like to be able to play with my daughter without getting horribly exhausted but I don't know how to reach that goal.

I know some reading this will think of me as gross, bur addiction to food is Judy as real as the addiction to drugs. It's filling some void for me and I need to explore what that void is before I can solve the problem with logic and reasoning. My goal for this week is to slowly explore my addiction and find triggers. I also hope to report to my readers that I have worked out at least twice and done a better job of eating healthy. I also plan to ask for help.

I promise that there will be more details about my self exploration tomorrow. Until then healthy eating and self image.

My confession...

I have a confession...I am addicted to food, no, not just food, junk food. It's become so much of a problem that I am ashamed of myself. I am horribly embarrassed by the look of my body. It is time that I stand up and take responsibility for my problem. It is now that I embark on a new journey in my life. In two months I hit the big 3-0 and I am determined to meet my addiction head on and beat it. I will not enter another year fat and addicted to food. It is my goal that in writing this blog that I help myself but that maybe I help someone else.

I am 5'4 and 180 pounds. Rather than setting a weight goal I'm setting a percentage goal so that I might have a better opportunity to reach it. My goal is 10%. The time line for that amount is July. Why so long you might ask...I plan for my ups and my downs. I am starting to realize that I cannot cut everything out and so I must do it gradually. I must realize that I will fail on occasion but that it is a bump in the road rather than a complete failure.

My first step is this: I will be clearing out my cabinets, my freezer, and my fridge. I will rid my house of the junk that has led me to this point. I will replace it with healthy foods for my family. When I complete this I will post the pictures of the junk I get rid of as a testimony to you and to me!
